Position zero is the colloquial term for the featured snippet that Google displays above the traditional organic search results (above position one). It typically presents a direct answer to a user's question in the form of a paragraph, numbered list, bulleted list, or table, along with a link to the source page. This prominent placement gives the featured page maximum visibility on the results page.

Position zero is automatically generated by Google's search algorithm, which selects the most relevant and concise answer from pages already ranking on the first page.
